    Federated Wireless is currently seeking a Vice President of Legal Advocacy to report to the Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will have broad responsibility for (a) developing and leading regulatory and public advocacy strategy and plans to support execution of the business plan (b) developing relationships and coalitions with partners, customers, and public figures towards achieving common regulatory goals; (c) influencing the direction of the regulatory policy development efforts domestically and internationally; and (d) envision new business opportunities in a variety of spectrum sharing models, evaluating and translating technological capabilities into strategic decisions. The right candidate is a “hands-on,” collaborative and resourceful leader.  This person is straightforward, open-minded, non-hierarchical and capable of analyzing, interpreting, drawing conclusions and implementing solutions on a variety of complex issues.  It is imperative that this person is able to quickly assimilate knowledge about new industry sectors and technologies.


    • Develop a comprehensive strategy for regulatory and public advocacy goals both within the US and globaly.
    • Manage multiple proceedings at the FCC and in Congress including filings, coordination and responses
    • Qualify, hire and manage outside legal firms in the US and within different countries to achive the company goals.
    • Work with domestic and foreign regulatory bodies to address regulatory and policy implications of the use of new technology in the designated field of use; design trial and pilot processes in partnership with multiple foreign and domestic regulatory bodies and commercial partners
    • Develop strong relationships with business executives, engineers and scientists in various spectrum related alliances and standards bodies
    • Act as an ambassador for the company in internal and external regulatory and policy interactions; participate in relevant industry meetings/conferences; develop strong relationships with industry, academic, Government and professional organizations​​​​​​​


    • A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive successful experience in legal within firms with emphasis on spectrum and regulatory work.
    • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in an in-house or large law firm environment, with software or technology industry experience and SEC/public company experience a plus
    • Knowledge of the US regulatory framework for spectrum and wireless services
    • Familiarity with a wide range of legal matters including corporate, commercial, privacy, litigation, IP, regulatory and compliance issues
    • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and membership in good standing in a state Bar desired but not required
